Art Club is for kids who love art! Lessons are designed for ages 5+. No previous experience with watercolor is necessary.

It will redirect you to a page where you can access all our lessons. I'll send you a new lesson every week via email.

We use the same simple materials each week to keep your life easy:

📋 Watercolor paper (2 per class)
🎨 Watercolor paint & brush
🌊 Cup of water, small towel
✏️ Pencil, eraser, sharpie, crayons
✂️ Scissors & tape (painters/masking)
🧂 Table salt & glue (sometimes)

Each lesson starts with a creative warm up. I'll play a song on piano while you practice a technique of the day.

Next, we'll meet our subject: sometimes that takes us to a national park, other times we'll head back in time to meet a famous artist from history. Each week is a new adventure!

We spend the rest of class painting. You can follow along with me or see where your own inspiration takes you. Your painting doesn't have to look exactly like mine - and that's the fun part!

We end class with an art challenge - something for you to work on between now and next week - and a riddle. Can you guess what we're painting next week?

2. Wet-on-Wet: Applying paint to wet paper for soft, blended effects.
3. Wet-on-Dry: Applying paint to dry paper for sharper details.
4. Color Mixing: Learning primary, secondary, and tertiary colors.
5. Creating Gradients: Blending colors to create smooth transitions.
6. Brush Control: Practicing different strokes and pressure.
7. Layering and Glazing: Applying transparent layers to build depth.
8. Water Control: Learning how water affects the intensity and flow of paint.
9. Lifting and Erasing: Using techniques to lighten or remove color.
10. Creating Textures: Using salt, sponges, or plastic wrap for unique effects.
11. Splattering and Dripping: Adding dynamic texture and energy to paintings.
12. Negative Space: Painting around objects to define them with the background.
13. Detail Work: Fine-tuning small details using fine brushes.
14. Light and Shadows: Creating depth by understanding light sources and shadowing.
15. Wet into Wet for Backgrounds: Painting atmospheric and abstract backgrounds.
16. Creating Depth with Color: Using cool and warm colors to create perspective.
17. Compositional Balance: Planning a well-balanced composition in a painting.
18. Nature Studies: Painting flowers, leaves, trees, or animals from observation.
19. Portraits: Simple portraiture with attention to skin tones and facial features.
20. Abstract Art: Encouraging free expression and exploration of abstract ideas.
21. Storytelling Through Art: Creating a series of paintings that tell a story.
22. Seasonal Projects: Winter scenes, summer landscapes, and more for seasonal themes.
23. Mixed Media Exploration: Combining watercolor with ink, crayon, or pencil.
